Join Team Odyssey as we set sail for the ’04 Athens Paralympics. Team Odyssey is a United States disabled sailing team. We compete in Sonars – one of the Paralympic boat classes to be used in Athens – and our past successes have already qualified the United States for a Paralympic entry in Athens in ’04. Our goal this year is to win the right to represent the U.S. as that entry and to medal in Athens next year. To do this, however, Team Odyssey must raise $75,000, and we need your help. Join our team as we work to reach Athens and help us achieve our Olympic dream. Olympic medals are rarely won through chance; rather, they require a lot of hard work and strong financial support. Most medallists receive much of their support from their communities. Our families and friends have helped us get to where we are today. We’re now hoping to expand our base of support community wide as we raise the stakes and make a run to go for the gold. Please join our team and lend your support. We’re proud to have our community and friends standing beside us as we pursue our Olympic dream. |
The
Pressure is ON!
|
| The clock is ticking, the
pressure is building, the US Paralympic Trials are November 7th to
14th in Saint Petersburg, Florida.
This is the big dance, where the team that will represent the United States in Paralympic Sailing will emerge. A seven day regatta will result in just one Sonar team winning the honor of attending the 2004 Games in Athens. Only one team of up to four sailors will represent the country. Our goal has always been to win a medal at the Paralympics. The US Trials are the biggest hurdle. We have worked very hard to prepare to WIN this crucial regatta. With your help we have traveled to four crucial regattas in Europe where we learned many invaluable lessons and skills. We are undoubtedly better prepared to win than any other US Sonar team, thanks to all of your support. We will arrive in Saint Petersburg with 10 days for final preparation and practice prior to the 7 days of racing. We still have many expenses, including replacing the mast which broke at the recent World Championship in Athens. Please join the Support Team with a generous contribution today. Thanks to All of Our Supporters! With all of you behind us, we can't lose. |
